The Eagle has landed!

Thank you to everybody who sponsored David to jump out of a plane on Saturday 6th October.

We are happy to report David landed safely raising £500 in the process for Whirlow Hall Farm Trust.

David comments “I always wanted to have a go at a sky dive, when the opportunity came along for Whirlow I jumped at the chance (15,000 feet to be exact). The experience was amazing and I will definatley be doing another one. The free fall was by far the best part and I can understand why people get hooked on the thrill of sky diving.”

Look out for more antics to raise much needed funds for Whirlow Hall Farm Trust by other members of the fwd:motion team!

If you too would like to find out how you can help raise funds for Whirlow please visit the website here.

If you have any ideas on activities to help raise money please feel free to post your comments.

A day on the farm...

Wybourn Community Primary School were matched with fwd:motion as part of the 480 club run by Whirlow Hall Farm Trust. The children from Wybourn School stayed at Whirlow Hall Farm from the 3rd to 5th of October and actively joined in with various farm tasks and looking after the animals.

Web Developer Mike Froggatt from fwd:motion visited the children and saw for himself the great work done by the Farm Trust and how it has a positive effect on the children.

Sarah Kerrigan, Fundraiser and Events Organiser at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust comments.

“Thank you for supporting the 480 scheme again for this year; Wybourn Primary School would not have enjoyed the visit they made to the farm last week without your generous support. I hope Mike Froggatt enjoyed meeting the children, I am sure he shared with you some of the hilarious comments we heard during their pony riding session and shared the photographs we took on the day.”

“A high percentage of the children come from low income households, some have never had a holiday, some have never left their community as hard as this is to believe. The visit to Whirlow has provided some children within this group with their first visit to the countryside and first meeting of farm animals. The children went home with happy memories they will remember for a long time to come not to mention all the learning they achieved during the stay…. I asked the group lots of questions which they answered with no problems or hesitation at all… they remembered everything they had been told during the stay.”

“May I take this opportunity to thank you again on behalf of the children from Wybourn Primary for your continued support and I look forward to seeing the team at fwd:motion on the farm again soon.”

fwd:motion are looking forward to being matched again with another school as part of the renewal process for the 480 club. if you too would like to find out more about the 480 club, or would like to join, then please click here to visit the Whirlow Hall Farm website.

fwd:motion heads out to PUMA HQ

Fwd ventured out to PUMA HQ in Nuremberg, Germany to work on the 2013 AW13 Black Label catalogue, a five day trip photographing the Autumn/Winter range of trainers and accessories for retail next year.

The PUMA brand was very much on display at the impressive offices on this purpose built site and the brilliantly named "Global brand Centre" was an amazing sight both in the daylight and at night when it is illuminated! PUMA are very aware of the importance of being environmentally friendly with their products and have led the way with forward thinking packaging and products, this awareness of being environmentally friendly is also projected in the global HQ. Huge Solar panels are fitted across the site and all of the offices electricity is generated purely from this source. There are also huge rain tanks that collect water and this is used within the buildings plumbing! A fantastic achievement and bold statement by this forward thinking global brand, which hopefully will be picked up by other like minded companies in the future!

The brand as you would expect is very much on show at the Global HQ. Attention to detail and ingenious and creative ideas such as the lights in the car park actually resembling a trainer box with the lid slightly open, so that the light projects out of the box is a great sight and re-enforces the importance of brand to PUMA!

Working at PUMAs HQ was a pleasure and fwd:motion celebrated below with the famous signature Usain Bolt Pose!
